Ford has recently priced the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe and the convertible. The current pricing revealed that the prices of the two vehicles have increased by more $5,000 including the shipping charge. But despite of the tremendous increase on the prices of the coupe and the convertible, Ford is still optimistic that a lot of car buyers will purchase these models since the price hike comes with the availability a number of additional exciting features.

First off, the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe which made its official debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show last fall has obtained a price increase of about $5,390 dollars. This simply means that the starting price of the 2012 model which is $49,605 has increased to %54,995 for the 2013 models. Although the increase is quite huge, Ford has a few justifications for these and this includes the boost in the horsepower and other minor upgrades implemented on the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Due to this increase, the price of the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe is almost similar to the price of one of its closest competitors which is the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 coupe.

Om the other hand, the price of the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 convertible that was unveiled at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show last month has also earned a $5,390 increase. As a result, current buyers could actually purchase the convertible at starting price of $59,995.

Although most of the buyers might consider the increase in price to be very huge, a lot of car experts believe that purchasing either the convertible or the coupe could still be considered as a good decision since the two models are powered by a 5.8-liter supercharge V-8 engine that produces up to 650 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque. These figures are still considered to be among the best in the segment and this could serve as the greatest justification why buyers should buy the GT500 coupe or convertible instead of their closest competitors.

But aside from the price increase, Ford is also offering a number of optional packages for the 2013 Ford Mustang GT500 coupe and convertible. The available packages are composed of the SVT Performance package that adds a 20-inch rear and 19-inch front wheels made of forged alloy, the electronics package, and the Shaker pro audio system package. However, these packages are offered with additional payments and this means that there is a need for buyers to spend extra amounts to obtain the additional features provided by any of these packages.
